Clohie
Roberts
Jul 29, 1937 — Jun 8, 2020
Greenwood
Clohie Roberts joined her husband, Kermit Roberts, in heaven on June 8 th , 2020 at the age of 82.
Clohie was born on July 29, 1937 in Kennett, MO, to Ray and Lillian Perew. On October 29, 1952, she married Kermit Ren Roberts. Together they raised four children: Vertie, Chesley, Randy, and Deonn. She was a long-time member of Hillview Baptist Church in Greenwood, MS.
Clohie had a great passion for sewing. She spent her later days sewing all she could for her great-grandchildren. She even used this talent to sew clothes for underprivileged children with her church family. She also enjoyed spending her summers gardening flowers. Her house and front porch was always full of beautiful, colorful flowers and plants that welcomed any guest upon arrival.
More than she loved sewing and flowers, she loved her family. She spent her days loving and caring for every member of her family. You could often find her in the kitchen preparing meals for her family or hesitantly participating in food fights that broke out during Thanksgiving. She loved a full house and loved seeing all her children run and play. Whether it was offering a meal or a room, you knew you were always welcomed and loved. Even in her later years, you could not speak with her for long without hearing about her four children, ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren were the great shining light of her life and she was so proud of them.
Clohie met Christ later in life and she enjoyed spending her time serving the Lord and attending her church. Last year, she made the decision to join the nursing home, Golden Age. There she continued to live out her days for Christ and she recruited many residents to the church services and Bible studies, even leading some on her own. Her greatest joy was serving Christ and leaned on him for her comfort and peace.
Clohie was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Roberts. She is survived by her four children; Vertie Kiser of Greenwood, MS, Chesley Roberts of Greenwood, MS, Randy Roberts of Mobile, AL, and Deonn Sanders of Vicksburg, MS.
Pallbearers are listed as: Darryl Eldridge, Brett Hudspeth, Nathan Wells, Cameron Roberts, Darrell Sanders, and Austin Black.
A funeral service will be held graveside at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hillview Stone Cemetery in Carroll County. Services will be performed by Bro. David Bartlett.
