Obituary

Clarence Swindoll , 83, of Carrollton, MS, died Monday, May 25, 2020 at his residence. Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, visitation 2 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Moore's Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Gary Tanner and Rev. Lanny Haley will officiate.

Mr. Swindoll was born on August 29, 1936, to Wyatt Franklin Swindle and Annie Ingram Swindle. He was employed at National Picture Frame as a supervisor for 15 years. He was a United States Army Veteran. His hobby was fishing and crafts. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Frances McGarity, and Margie Hatchins; brothers, Clyde Swindle and Phillip Swindle, great-grandson, Ellis Luke Downs, and his parents.

He is survived by his wife that he married on December 9, 1965, Hazel Montgomery Swindoll of Carrollton, MS; daughters, Denise Goss (Cameron) of Booneville, MS, Wendy S. Ellis ( Mike) of Carrollton, MS; brother, William Swindle of Carrollton, MS; grandchildren, Cassey Standrod (Brandon Upchurch) of Carrollton, MS, Adam Standrod (Ari) of Starkville, MS, Alex Goss of Booneville, MS, Morgan Goss of Booneville, MS, Rachel Downs (Kendall) of Carrollton, MS, and Logan Ellis (Dakota Hollingsworth) of Pearl, MS; and a great-grandchild, Ann Ellis Downs.

Pallbearers will be Chris Payne, Scott Montgomery, Brad Rayburn, Allen Swindle, Scotty Baker, and Ben Swindle.

Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS, is in charge of arrangements.
