Christopher Douglas Campbell, age 47, passed away on the afternoon of Saturday, March 29, 2025, after a long and courageous journey with stage 4 colon cancer. His passing has left a profound void in the lives of all who knew him, but his memory and legacy of strength, resilience, and love will continue to inspire.
Chris was born on June 20, 1977, in Leland, Mississippi, to William Douglas Campbell and Debbie Crocker Campbell. He moved with his family to Brandon in 1993 and attended N.W. Rankin High School. In 1999 he was blessed with the birth of his only child, a beautiful daughter Landyn Eve Campbell. As time and life moved on Chris strove to be a better father and man. In 2012, starting as a bartender at Georgia Blue, Chris's dedication and hard work earned him the position of Director of Bar Operations for all locations. His never wavering love for people and leadership made Chris not only a loving wonderful father but also a well respected boss.
In his personal life, he had an artistic soul that was beautiful to all those that he shared it with. He enjoyed and was talented in the areas of music and design, but it was his caring nature that truly set him apart. Chris had an incredible ability to listen in a way that made everyone he spoke to feel like they were the most important person in the world. His joyous and creative spirit was infectious, and he brought laughter and light into the lives of everyone around him.
His journey with cancer, since his diagnosis in 2019, included many twist and turns which allowed him to become a true advocate for fighting cancer the nontraditional way. In doing this Chris touched the lives of so many people all over the world. leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of strength and resilience. His bravery and determination to continue living life fully, both for himself and those that he loved, was a testament as to how much he loved life.
Chris is survived his life partner, Eden D. Pepper; daughter, Landyn Campbell Tutor (Jake); by his parents, William Douglas Campbell and Debbie Crocker Campbell; his brother, Matthew Brian Campbell; and countless others who were touched by his spirit.
A funeral service to honor Chris's life will be held on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025 at Williams and Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, Mississippi. Visitation will be from 12-2 with funeral service to follow and graveside service at Moore's Memorial Cemetery. Brother Jeff Parker will officiate the funeral services. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Self, Gage Self, Grayson Self, Brian Campbell, Brian Childs, and Jake Tutor.
