Christie G. Montgomery, 59, of Grenada, died Saturday, January 14, 2017 at her residence. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8p.m. Monday, January 16, 2017 at the funeral home. Rev. George Melton will officiate at the service. Burial will be in Malmaison Cemetery.
Mrs. Montgomery was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, on January 9, 1958 to Gene Gough and Mary Louise Wathen Gough. She resided in Nashville, TN, before coming to the Greenwood and Grenada area. She was a graduate of Davis County High School in Owensboro, and received a Bachelor's Degree at Kentucky Wesleyan College. She worked as an associate at Regions Bank in Nashville, Kosciusko, Greenwood, and Grenada. She was a member of Hardy Baptist Church in Hardy, MS.
Mrs. Montgomery is survived by her husband of 19 years, Johnny L. Montgomery of Grenada, MS; three sons, Ben Shultz of Nashville, TN, Stephen Shultz of Winona, MS, and John Montgomery of Winona, MS; two daughters, Kristen Baker of Longville, LA, and Brittany Timmons of Charleston, MS; one sister, Sharron Ferrell of Owensboro, KY; four grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Montgomery, Daryll Morton, Josh Bates, Jessie Baker, Jeffery Timmons and John Montgomery.
Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
