Chris Murphree Andrews, 68, of Greenwood, MS, died Monday, August 22, 2016 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. till service time. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Dennis McKay and Rev. Leon Holly will officiate.
Mrs. Andrews was born October 18, 1947 in Greenwood to Curtis Murphree and Olga Watkins Murphree. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and attended Blue Mountain College. She was employed by the Leflore County Welfare Department and worked as an eligibility employee and welfare director from 1969 to 1996. Her hobby was genealogy, and she attended Christ Baptist Church and Harmony Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Melvin Andrews of Greenwood, MS; two step-sons, Michael Andrews of Tupelo, MS, and David Andrews of Randolph, MS; grandchildren, Mariann Andrews and Glen Michael Andrews, and mother-in-law, Jean Oslowski of Lake Caroline, MS.
Pallbearers will be Mark Miller, Toby Meredith, Robert Ellis, Michael Andrews, David Andrews, Chad Carver, and Zack Ellis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Bill Jones and Dr. Timothy Cannon.
Williams & Lord Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Leflore County Humane Society or the donor's choice.
