Charles Pitts, 79, of Drew, MS, died Friday, April 28, 2017 at his residence. Services will be 2p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 at West Drew Baptist Church. Visitation will be 12 p.m. till service time at the church. Interment will be in Drew Cemetery. Rev. Rick Milan will officiate. Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Ruleville is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pitts was born September 2, 1937 in Lee County to Carlis Lindsey Pitts and Minnie Estelle Pitts. He was a member of West Drew Baptist Church where he and his wife were the longest members of the church. He enjoyed working in the garden, working on cars, and spending time with his family. Charles always put his family first. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Dewayne Pitts, his sister, Laverne Gilmer, and his parents.

Mr. Pitts is survived by his wife of 58 years, Faye Sumner Pitts of Drew, MS; son, Robert Keith Pitts of Greenville, MS; daughters, Malinda Beck of Salem, AR, and Glenda Herring of Cleveland, MS; sisters; Lois Townsend of Drew, MS, and Jeanette Kinnard of Drew, MS; brother, Ray Pitts of Merigold, MS; 9 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren.
