Charles Gilbert Phillips , 77, of Greenwood, MS, died Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Jim Kelly will officiate.

Mr. Phillips was born June 8, 1945 in Sunflower, MS, to Charles Lee Phillips and Ollie Mae Samuels Phillips. He was of the Baptist faith. He loved being an auto mechanic and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sons, Dennis Ray Phillips and Charles G. Phillips, Jr., sister, Mavis Phillips, and his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Melissa Leverett Phillips of Greenwood, MS; his daughters, Tammy Leverett of Winona, MS, Tina Schoeman and husband Jordaan of Greenwood, MS, Alma Clanton  and husband Daniel of Holcomb, Rose Long and husband Drew of Carrollton, MS, April Phillips of Cleveland, OH, Tonya Phillips of Batesville, MS, and Linda Phillips of Teoc, MS; son,  Charles Ray Phillips of Carrollton, MS; brother, Lee Phillips of Greenwood, MS; and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Drew Long, Jordaan Schoeman, Charles Ray Phillips, Daniel Clanton, Kaiden Rayburn, Alex Cucu, and Steven Bryce Rayburn.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bailey Lawrence and Joe Gentry.
