Services for Charles Edward Morris Sr. will be held Thursday, October 18, 2018 10:00 AM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Ruleville, MS.

Mr. Morris, age 81, died on Monday, October 15, 2018 at his residence in Drew, MS.

He was born on March 01, 1937 in Houston, MS, to Homer David Morris Sr. and Edna Vera Chandler Morris. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Homer Morris Jr., Bobby Lee Morris and Billy Jerald Morris.

Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard work and his grandkids.

He proudly served in the National Guard for eight years and the United States Army for one year during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Free Morris of Drew, MS; daughter, Tanya (Dewayne) Mitchell of Florence, MS; son, Charles Morris of Drew, MS; brother, Joe Morris Sr. of Drew, MS; sisters, Juanita Logan of Proctor, AR, and Ella Mae Wagner of Frayser, TN; granddaughters, Sara(Jordan) Greer of Canton, MS, and Hanna Mitchell of Florence, MS; grandson, Noah Mitchell of Florence, MS; and a great granddaughter, Norah Greer of Canton, MS.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 06:00 PM to 08:00 PM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Ruleville. Rev. Greg Chamblee will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Joel Morris, Jimmy "Bubba" Morris, Chris Morris, Joe "Poncho" Morris, Jonathan Morris, David "Buster" Morris, and David Wagner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ricky Morris and Bill Morris. Burial will be in Drew Cemetery with the Patriot Guard Riders of Mississippi   performing military rites.
