Services for Cecil Ladell Blount will be held Friday, May 7, 2021 2:00 PM at North Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland, MS.

Mr. Blount, age 89, died on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at St. Vincent's St. Clair Hospital in Pell City, AL.

He was born on June 19, 1931 in Belzoni, MS, to the late Acey and Mary J Gentry Blount and lived in Cropwell, AL. He was a painter by trade and proudly served his country in the Korean conflict while enlisted in the US Navy. Upon returning home he served in the Army National Guard.  Cecil is preceded in death by his son, Cecil ladell Blount Jr.; daughter, Kathy Fay Blount Dill, four brothers, Travis Blount, Talmadge Blount, Warren Lee Blount and Thomas Campbell; and two sisters Doris Harrison and Grace Moyer.

He is survived by his son, Michael (Helen) Blount of Cropwell, AL; two daughters, Brenda Blount of Oxford, MS, and Cindy Thomas of Oxford, MS; sister, Mary Alice (Raymond) Ray of Cleveland, MS; four grandchildren, Jason Bassie, Sheri Gentry, Kandice Dill, and Michael Vincent Blount; and seven great grandchildren.

Rev. Chris Gentry will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Michael V. Blount, Jason Bassie, Glenn Ray, Floyd Arbuckle, Dan Bell, and Jack Curtis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Vince Ray and Rabbit Warren.

Williams & Lord Ruleville is in charge.
