Mrs. Carolyn Denton Nester

Services for Mrs. Carolyn Denton Nester will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 2:00 PM at Williams and Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood.

Mrs. Nester, age 74, died on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona, MS.

She was born on May 19, 1948 in Greenwood, MS, to the late William Oliver Denton and Virgie Thornburg Denton. She graduated from Greenwood High School and worked for Bellsouth telephone for over 30 years before her retirement. She was of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her parents, and twin brother, Bobby Denton.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James Hartford Nester, Sr of Carrollton, MS; son, Jim (Melissa) Nester, of Carrollton, MS; daughter, Mikki Chester, of Greenwood, MS; three brother, Billy Denton, of Greenwood, MS, Robby (Lea) Denton, of Greenwood, MS, and Chuck (Megan) Denton, of Clarksdale, MS; sister, Dixie (Freddie) Murphy, of Carrollton, MS; nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tyler Murphy, Casey Murphy, Ricky Denton, Bill Thornburg, Jr, Charlie Montgomery, and Andy Harper. Burial will be in New Jerusalem Cemetery in Carroll County.
