Brenda Hicks Simmons, 60, of Greenwood, MS, died Friday, April 26, 2024 at her residence. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time. Rev. Larry Shackelford will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Carroll County.

She was born on October 25, 1963 and was the daughter of Harry Erwin and Sue Helen Wiggins Cook. She attended Lighthouse Ministries and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Allen Hicks, her father Arthur Hicks, Sr., and grandparents, Sammie Lee Wiggins, Hazel Wiggins Owens, and Pearl Hicks.

She is survived by her husband, Ricky Simmons of Greenwood, MS; parents, Erwin and Sue Cook of Gore Springs, MS; sons, Steven Goss (Stacie), Jr. of Carrollton, MS, Wesley Goss of Crystal Springs, MS, and  Trent Goss (Deanna) of Grenada, MS; brothers, Art Hicks (Konnie) of Carrollton, MS, and Ronnie Hicks (Jay) of Carrollton, MS; sisters, Sandra Prescott (Tony) of Carrollton, MS, and Debbie Montgomery (Scott) of Carrollton, MS; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Max Montgomery, Andrew Montgomery, Will Smith, Zach Lowe, Jerry Hicks, and Kenny Downs.

Honorary pallbearers will be Scottie Montgomery, Stefan Montgomery, Johnny (Lil Blue) Prescott, Tony Prescott, Eli Goss, Peyton Corley, and Braden Goss.
