Bobby L. Childers, Sr ., 77, of Carrollton, MS, died Monday, April 10, 2023 at his residence. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at New Bethel Baptist Church in Carroll County with visitation 9:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Childers Cemetery in Carroll County.  Rev. Joseph Sansing will officiate.

Mr. Childers was born April 28, 1945 in Carroll County to Marvin Vester Childers and Sylvia Mae Corley. He was a graduate of J.Z. George High School and Mississippi Delta Community College. He was a retired insurance agent and farmer. He served on the board of directors of Carroll Academy and was a member of the Council Cooking Team. He was a dedicated father and grandfather.  He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and he was a Mason in the Greenwood Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Brown Childers of Carrollton, MS; sons, Bobby Childers, Jr. and wife Melaney of Carrollton, MS, and David Jeffrey Childers and wife Stephanie of North Carolina; daughter, Kristi Perry and husband Andrew of Greenwood, MS; six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Perry, Michael Shelton, Ben Childers, Sam Childers, Emmett Kelly, and Donnie Stephenson. Honorary pallbearers will be Hub Jackson, David Brown, James Campbell, Bill Lord, and Tommy Blount.
