Services for Bobbie J. Powell Washington will be held Monday, August 2, 2021 11:00 AM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Ruleville, MS.

Mrs. Washington, age 82, died on Friday, July 30, 2021 at her residence in Madison, MS.

She was born on November 3, 1938 in Drew, MS, to the late Euell B. and Caroline Fitzgibbon Powell.   Bobbie married her husband of 62 years on June 12, 1954 and lost the love of her life (Herman) and best friend in 2017. She counted her blessings every day.

They moved to Illinois in the spring of 1956, and she spent thirty plus years working for an x-ray company before going to beauty school at the age of 42. After receiving her license as a beautician, she worked two jobs for ten years before retiring. She and Herman traveled for eleven years all over the country side, meeting many nice folks and made lots of friends along the way.

She is survived by her sister, Jane Clemons of Utica, KY; brother, Euell Powell of Canton, MS; brother in law, Daniel Washington of Drew, MS; sister in law, Freda Reynolds of Batesville, MS; caregiver, Dorothy Cummins of Madison, MS; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral Home.  Rev. Robert Haney will officiate the services.
