Obituary

Bill Sayle gained his heavenly reward, October 6, 2026, at his home in Carrollton, Mississippi.

He was born to DT “Ace” Sayle, Jr, and Evelyn Faye Boyd Sayle, December 12, 1951. He called the Delta home his entire life. He was a retired insurance agent, after spending time working with his father and brother, Bobby, at Sayle Cotton Company. He was a simple man who loved his family and friends, was an avid Elvis Presley collector and fan, and loved sports of all varieties.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Brandy Sayle; brother, Bobby Sayle; life long best friend, Dean Vail; and life partner, Meg Brown.

He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Chambers (David) of Dumas, AR, and Tammie Limoges (Paul) of Littleton, CO; son, Billy Sayle (Billie) of Greenwood, MS; brother, David Sayle (Claudia) of Tuscumbia, AL; and sister, Olivia Watts (Clayton Hobson) of Greenwood, MS.

He is also survived by six grandchildren, which lit up his life for him to see becoming fantastic young adults as they progressed through their growing lives, and three great grandchildren. He grew up with a host of beloved cousins that were like bonus siblings, and he loved them all whole heartedly, as did his numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to especially thank the Gammill and Vail families. Bob and Dean were his lifelong friends, and he was always thankful to be so blessed. Robert Vail is owed a debt of gratitude, and we can’t thank him enough for loving our family and Bill while taking great care of him through life challenges.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. We kindly ask that memorials be made to support the Mayo Clinic for Alzheimer’s research at www.mayoclinic.org or St. Jude Chirldren’s Hospital at www.stjude.org
