Services for Betty Jean Oswalt will be held Friday, September 1, 2017 11:00 AM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.

Mrs. Oswalt, age 82, died on Monday, August 28, 2017. She was born on November 6, 1934 in Humphreys County, MS, to the late Joseph and Myrtle Higginbotham Harwell. She was married to her husband, JW Oswalt, for over 40 years. Mrs. Oswalt was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and also attended the Church of God in Minter City. She enjoyed singing and playing music in the church and with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, James Edward Baldridge; daughter, Cynthia Baldridge; and her first husband, Luther Baldridge.

She is survived by her husband, JW Oswalt of Schlater, MS, and son, Luther Baldridge of Jackson, MS, 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 9:00 AM to service time at the funeral home. Chaplain Sam Riddell will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Johnny Serio, Jimmy Watson, Ronnie Counts, Thomas Counts, Nicholas Watson, and Thomas Donahoo. Burial will be in McNutt Cemetery in Schlater, MS.
