Betty Lois Mims Cook, 95, of Greenwood, Mississippi, died Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Indywood Glen Personal Care. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with visitation 12:30 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow in New Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Carroll County, MS. Willie Mims will officiate the services.
Mrs. Cook was born November 7, 1930, in Louisiana, to Willie L. Mims and Mary Lois Bryce Mims. She was a member of West President Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening and fishing. She was a master crocheter. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Ralph Kerschner; brother Bobby Wayne Mims; and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter Jenny Withers and her husband Larry of Jacksonville, FL; sons John A. Cook of Antioch, IL, Ronald Cook and his wife Rebecca of Pikeville, TN, Skip Cook of Jackson, TN, and James Cook and his wife Teresa of Bethel Springs, TN; brother, William Mims and his wife Mattie of Coila, MS; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Indywood Glen Personal Care for the care they provided Mrs. Cook.
Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
