Betty Jane Browning,79, of Greenwood, Mississippi, died Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery on Monday September 8, 2025. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Rev. Roy Bush will officiate.

Mrs. Browning was born on January 19, 1946, to Buster Miller and Ruby White Miller. She was a member of Valley Hill Baptist Church. She worked as a cafeteria manager for East Elementary School before her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Browning; daughter, Kerry Wheat; son, Kevin Browning; brothers, Tommy Miller and Willie Miller; and a sister, Peggy Brooks.

She is survived by her son, Michael Browning of Greenwood, MS; sister, Carolyn Goldman of Greenwood, MS; brother, Donald Miller of Sidon, MS; grandchildren, Melissa Powell, Amanda Browning, Stephanie Watson, Kassie Browning, Brandi McNeer, and Sean Michael Wheat; seven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
