Services for Barry Dewayne Smith will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 at Williams and Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.

Mr. Smith, age 58, died on Tuesday, January 8, at his residence in Carrollton, MS, of heart failure.

Barry was born December 6, 1960 in Greenwood to G. A. and Helen Barry Smith. He was employed by Leflore County for 10 years as a heavy equipment operator and previously worked for the Army Corp of Engineers. He was an avid hunter and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of Malmaison Baptist Church in Carroll County.

He was preceded in death by his father, G. A. Smith, and brother, Billy Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mindy Smith of Carrollton; daughter, Rebecca Jolene Smith of Carrollton; mother, Helen Barry Smith of Greenwood; two sisters, Debbie Goodwin and Brenda Collins, both of Greenwood; father in law, Hub Jackson of Carrollton; son in law, Jeremy Miller of Carrollton; and three grandchildren, Nathan, Penelope, and Veronica Copes.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. service time Friday at the funeral home. Reverend Joseph Sansing will officiate the service.
