Services for Barbara Alice Upchurch will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 1:00 PM at North Park Church of God of Prophecy in Greenwood, MS.

Mrs. Upchurch, age 70, died on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at her residence. She was born on October 24, 1946 in Tallahatchie County to the late V.J. and Maudie Hall Smith and lived in Greenwood, MS. She grew up in the Tallahatchie, Sunflower, and Leflore County areas and graduated from Drew High School. She was of the Pentecostal faith and was a member of North Park Church of God of Prophecy for over 30 years. She was very active in the youth ministry at her church. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, rummage sales, and playing dominos. Mrs. Upchurch loved her family and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Upchurch, parents, and one sister, Carolyn Smith.

She is survived by daughters, Amy (Greg) Mendez of Petal, MS, and Candedia Hood of Teoc, MS; sisters, Pat Adcock of Macon, MS, and Faye (Steve) Hendricks of Tillatoba, MS;  brothers, Larry (Paula) Smith of West Point, MS,  Raye Smith of Grenada, MS, and Charles (Crystal) Smith of Charleston, MS; 5 grand children; and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM before the services at the church. Rev. Tim Winters will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Donovan Vaughan, Quentin Myers, Champ Adcock, Shaw Adcock, Jason Smith, Marcus Upchurch, Ronald Upchurch, and Anthony Upchurch. Honorary Pallbearers will be Aubrey Grace Stevens, Tyler Stevens, Greg Mendez, and Roger Upchurch. Burial will be in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Paynes, MS.

In lieu of flowers the family request all memorials be made to North Park Church of God of Prophecy youth ministry. Williams and Lord Funeral Home is in charge. An online guestbook can be signed at www.williamsandlord.com.
