Obituary

Audrey Green Vest Knox, 87, of Greenwood, MS, died Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Riverview Nursing & Rehab. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with visitation 12 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in Indianola Cemetery. Rev. Larry Shackelford will officiate.

Mrs. Knox was born September 27, 1933 in Montgomery County, MS, to Mark Green and Ethel Palmertree Green. Mrs. Knox was affectionately known to everyone as "Nanny," and she raised six kids plus countless other friends of her children. Mrs. Knox was a caring person to anyone in need. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Knox worked many years at Supreme Electronics, National Picture Frame, and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Greenwood, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, who passed away on February 3, 2009, Pat Knox; her first husband, Woodrow Vest; infant daughter, Ethel Vest; son, Arnold Vest; step-mother, Nellie Green; grandchildren, Robby Vest, Jeff Cauthen, and Kimberly Vest Sively; great-grandchild, Kathryn Danille Vest; sisters, Nellie Bowman, Clara Black, and Floyce Morgan; brothers, Marvin Green, James Green, Calvin Green, and Roy Pullen; and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Robert Vest (Debbie) of Columbus, MS; four daughters, Linda Shambro of Greenwood, MS, Margaret Vest Oliver (Ken) of Brookhaven, MS, Patricia Harris of Pontotoc, MS, and Pam Cauthen (Joe)  of Phillipston, MS; sister, Alice Cothran of Gore Springs, MS; brother, Doyle Green of Alabama; seventeen grandchildren, forty four great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Boler, Father Thomas Delaney, and Brandon Anthony.
