Services for Arthur Hicks, Sr. will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2017 11:00 AM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.
Mr. Hicks, age 77, died on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the VA Nursing Home in Kosciusko from heart failure. He was born on October 18, 1940 in Greenwood, MS, to the late Arthur and Pearl Jones Hicks. He attended Greenwood High School and retired from the United States Army after 30 years, serving most of that time in Leavenworth, KS, as a Military Police Officer. He was also a Vietnam Veteran. He was a Christian and of the Church of God faith. He will be dearly missed by friends and family. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cliff Hicks and Haus Hicks; and one sister, Cecelia Hicks.
He is survived by three sons, Ronnie (Jay) Hicks of Carrollton, MS, Art Hicks of Carrollton, MS, and RT Hicks of MN; three daughters, Brenda (Ricky) Simmons of Greenwood, MS, Sandra (Tony) Prescott of Greenwood, MS, and Debbie (Scott) Montgomery of Carrollton, MS; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Rev Joseph Sansing will officiate the services.
