Alice McBride Dorris, 95, of Carrollton, MS, died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Golden Age Nursing Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April17, 2018 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. A private burial will be in McBride Family Cemetery in Carroll County. Rev. Lanny Haley will officiate.

Mrs. Dorris was born October 29, 1922 in Indianola, MS, to Elzie M. McBride and Jessie E. Beard. She graduated high school in Indianola, and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She retired from Leflore County Schools as a teacher's assistant and was a resident of Carroll County since 1990. She enjoyed fishing and working in her yard. She is preceded in death by her husband, Abner Dorris, daughter, Jean Jones, son, Jerry Dorris, brothers, Belma A. McBride and William E. McBride, and her parents.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Green and husband Glenn of Teoc, MS, three grandchildren, Candy Vickers and husband Kevin, Payge Thornton and husband Scotty, Chris Thomas and wife Aimee, and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Timothy McBride, Alton McBride, Jimmy McBride, Kevin Vickers, Scotty Thornton, and Chris Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers will be William McBride and Bill Gardner.
