NORTH CARROLLTON - LaVerne Denton DeLapp, age 68, died Thursday February 25, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson from heart failure.

She was born in Lodi, Ms. February 5, 1942 to Thomas A. and Cascille Taylor Pullen. She was a graduate of Duck Hill High School, attended Holmes Community College and Grenada Beauty School. She was a hairdresser in North Carrollton where she owned and operated Korner Kuttery for a number of years. She was a former dispatcher for the Carroll County Sheriff Department and was owner of Grans One of a Kind Creations. She was President of the Carroll County Garden Club and the VFW in Dickson, TN. She had her EMT License and also was a member of Carrollton Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a Daughter-Kimberly Denton Brown, a Son-Samuel Jeffrey Denton and her Father-Thomas A. Pullen.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Saturday 2/27/2010 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Gilder officiating and Reverend Gary Bunch assisting. Pallbearers will be Donnie Perkins, Ronnie White, Ronnie Smith, George A. Lee, Donald Sultan and Clay Gregg. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton.

She is survived by her Spouse of 19 years, Yancey DeLapp of North Carrollton, 2 Daughters, Renee Jenkins of Carrollton and Julia "D'De" Beckwith of North Carrollton, Mother, Cascille Baker of Dickson, TN, 4 Brothers, Chris Baker of Arlington, TX., Al Baker of Roanoke, VA., Wayne Baker of Carson City, NV. and Billy Pullen of Georgia, 4 Sisters, Teresa Harbinson of Tupelo, Brenda Dysinger of Dickson, TN., Angie Stansbury of Atlanta, Ga. and Mildred Brown of Atlanta, Ga. 4 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren and a Number of Nieces & Nephews.
